Dr. Robert F. Murray (j. 4/1969; d. 2022), who joined with his wife Peachy, was a past director of the Jubilee Singers and served on the Committee to Evaluate the Senior Minister.  

Dr. Murray was a medical geneticist whose titles included that of chief of the Medical Genetics Division within Howard’s College of Medicine’s Department of Pediatrics and Child Health and chairman of the Department of Genetics and Human Genetics in Howard’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences. He also served on the Task Force on AIDS and had many years of experience and service on a number of panels, committees and advisory commissions dealing with a variety of medical and scientific topics.

Murray received his medical degree in 1958 from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and completed his medical residency in internal medicine at the University of Colorado in 1962.

In 2011, Dr. Murray was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Fourth Roland B. Scott Memorial Symposium at the Howard University Center for Sickle Cell Disease.
