Biography

Lori Stone (they/she) came of age in Midwestern rural Illinois, the oldest of four siblings. She credits her mother with passing on her value of service to one’s community and mad project management skills. Lori came to Unitarian Universalism while in college at the University of Illinois at Urbana. After a 15-year career in corporate IT, Lori shifted their focus to the public and non-profit sector. For the past nine years, she served the Church of the Larger Fellowship, Unitarian Universalism’s largest US-based congregation, as its Director of Technology. In 2021, Lori moved to the DC area with their partner, the Rev. Ali K.C. Bell (he/him/Rev. Ali), who serves Cedar Lane Unitarian Universalist Congregation in Bethesda. They share their home with their two children and their beloved border collie/lab mix, Cuddles.
