Mindful Movement and Qi Gong (energy work) for All Souls!

Led by Ken Yamaguchi-Clark and Carol Collins

Struggling or looking to get calm or grounded? Looking for a gentle yet powerful way to support body mind and spirit during these challenging times?

Join us Sunday mornings from 9:30-10:15 in the Courtyard before service for some embodied practices!

Meet the three companions of Qi Gong: breath, body and consciousness (traditionally called the three corrections).

We’ll share simple, mindful movement that can be performed sitting, standing or lying down, almost anywhere, for a few minutes or for a longer, more in-depth exploration or expression.

These practices have been found to promote energy, health, balance, and mobility, as well as calmness, clarity, and vitality.

We will use silence, the sounds in and around us, as well as music and poetry such as Max Hermann’s il Desiderata and a contemplative movement meditation called Take Your Medicine, by Ken Yamaguchi-Clark, as our soundscores to explore different aspects and applications of the form so that you can create a practice that compliments your life and work styles; cycles, stresses and joys; activism, art and creativity; meditations and contemplations; health, healing and wellness…really, whatever you decide.

To support ourselves and each other we’ll suggest two intentions/aspirations to help you find your own practice: Practice (at least) five minute a day for 21 days.

And you can start again anytime.

This is a great way to build community and practice gentle movements together. All souls are welcome and no experience is necessary. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes that you can move in.
