Jubilee Singers Rehearsal
Currently under the leadership of Reginald “Reggie” Golden, the All Souls Jubilee Singers were organized in 1977 at the suggestion of Rev. David Eaton. The group made its debut at the Sunday worship service on September 6, 1977, under the direction of its founder, Dr. Ysaye Barnwell. At the time, most of the group’s members were people who had always wanted to sing but had been afraid to try. Since 1977 the group has grown in confidence, in numbers, and in depth of spirit.
To this day, the Jubilee Singers regularly provide music for the worship services at All Souls church, originally only on the first Sunday of each month. The repertoire consisted primarily of traditional negro spirituals and gospels, which provided a particular source of inspiration to the congregation.
The Jubilee Singers have been presented in concert at various churches and other locations around the DC Area and have performed for numerous church-sponsored functions.
