Board of Trustees Meeting

Your elected church leaders welcome you to monthly business meetings where we consider policy and budget decisions facing the church, through conversations grounded in our developmental ministry goals.

In keeping with our commitments to increasing transparency, the Board of Trustees is planning to provide these short monthly reports and previews of upcoming activities.

This first report covers the June 25 Board meeting and June 28 retreat, the first activities with the newly elected Trustees and Officers. The Board elected Pam Coukos as President and Toni Lewis as Vice-President, for one year terms. We reflected on the Annual Meeting, including successfully passing the budget with much more support than last year, and making space to discuss the LWWOM process. We also considered how best to support the ability of congregants to bring new items for discussion and voting while making sure there is ample time and space for everyone to consider them thoughtfully, and discussed whether we should consider further adjustments to our hybrid participation protocols to make sure it allows for sufficient remote engagement. During the meeting we received the most recent financial results and reviewed the just-received final 2024 audit results. Finally, we had an opportunity for Trustees, Officers and the Executive Team to participate in a self-evaluation of the past year.

Please join us online on Wednesday, July 30 at 7:00 pm for the next monthly business meeting. We will review year-end financial results, provide a financial orientation to new Trustees and Officers, and receive a regular report from the Executive Team including an update on staff transitions. The Board will also reflect on our retreat and plan next steps for the summer and fall, including potential further options for the Living Well Within Our Means Committee and building lay leadership and shared ministry.
