Revere Bell History and Tour

Cast in 1822 by Joseph, son of Paul Revere, this bell has rung successively for 180 years in all three of our congregation’s buildings. The 883-pound bell bears the inscription “Revere Boston 1822.” After service on January 26, members of Silver Souls invite those interested and able to climb the 92 steps up the Bell Tower to see the Revere Bell. The tour will be led by Steven Stichter. A member of the All Souls Archives Team, Mara Cherasky, will show and tell us more about the bell’s history and its significance to Washington DC, as we celebrate its 100th year in our church building.

We will gather near the north balcony doors on the third floor (accessible by elevator from Reeb Lobby) for the show and tell with Mara, then ascend the tower together.
