The first All Souls Mother’s Day Plant Sale was 40 years ago! In 1984 Bob Freeman dug up some plants from his yard to raise money for the church. The following year, Hertha Aldama got involved; there’s a little garden in her honor on the south lawn. Over the years we’ve had baked goods, May wine, renaissance music, etc, but always lots of plants! This year we’ll have Mother’s Day cards, small gifts, and lots of plants, including native plants.
You can help! Drop off plants May 4-10, (include labels with your name and as much info as possible about your plants), help sort and price them on Saturday May 10, beginning at 9:00 AM or Sunday before church. Answer questions the day of the sale – May 11. And buy plants! The money will go to All Souls Church, and you can take home something beautiful from a fellow All Souls congregant.
