Congregational Care – Week of 8/21/2022

Many congratulations to Sara Hudgins and Amani Konan, married on July 23 in Richmond, VA. They are joyfully celebrating being together and settling into their new life rhythms. Glad the long wait is over!

Barbara Corprew is in a finger cast with separated tendon for the next eight weeks. We wish her speedy healing, patience in the weekly appointments, and the avoidance of hand surgery.

We send fond farewell wishes to Kathie Baker, who leaves for the Portland, Oregon area this next week. Her sister Janie, and brother-in-law Dan, have been helping with her move for the last few months, and are here now from Oregon. Kathie’s covenant group has been wonderful in assistance for many months, so much thanks for this primary caring community.

We mourn the loss of long-time All Souls member Myles Johnson, who died on July 10 with wife Ruth, and daughters Kerry, Sara and Elizabeth at his side. Ruth and Myles met at All Souls and were married in 1964. Myles served on the Beckner Committee, was a social worker at the NASW, and a labor organizer. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 20, 3 pm, at Ingleside at King Farm Rockville. A concert featuring the Capital Focus Jazz Band will follow at 4 pm. Donations may be made to Potomac River Jazz Club.
