All Souls Welcomes a New Afghan Family

A year ago, generous members of this congregation helped the family of Mohammad Monir Karimi settle into an apartment in Falls Church, Va. Recently, Monir's brother Mukhtar journeyed here with his wife and three kids after a 2-year wait for visas. Like Monir, Mukhtar had worked for a contractor supporting the U.S. military in Afghanistan. The new arrivals will need cash, furniture, and a variety of household goods.

Mecklenburg County, NC has seen low voter turnout in the Black community for several years. Voter suppression is the culprit.
