Every Tuesday in August from 6-8 PM, we are calling Black voters in North Carolina with The Center for Common Ground, following-up on postcards we sent in the spring, encouraging the people of Mecklenburg County to vote, providing resources that make it easy to check where they are registered, and asking them to get their friends and family involved.
We will solemnly mark the 79 years since the dropping of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima, Japan on August 6, 1945. From that distant tragedy a lasting connection between All Souls Church and Hiroshima was created by the power of children’s artwork to create hope in the midst of despair.
