Mohammad Mukhtar Karimi, whose Afghan family has resettled in Fall Church with help from the All Souls Migrant Solidarity Team, recently passed a field-testing technician exam offered online by the American Concrete Institute. He worked in civil engineering in Afghanistan and has been told he stands a good chance of a construction-related job. But the job requires that he have a vehicle to take him to work sites. If you have an old car in good running condition, it would really help Mukhtar and his family of five get on their feet. We can’t offer tax advice, but we’re exploring whether such a donation qualifies for a deduction.
