A Universalist Jubilee: Its Legacy and Promise

An invitation:

We are writing on behalf of the Universalist National Memorial Church (UNMC) in Washington DC to invite you, as clergy, and your congregations to a special convocation entitled “A Universalist Jubilee: Its Legacy and Promise” at 4:00 p.m. ET, Saturday, October 7, 2023, at UNMC, 1810 16th St NW, Washington, DC.

As the historic national church of Universalism, we were unable due to COVID to celebrate our 250th anniversary of Universalism in America in 2020. We thought it was time to do so and we very much would enjoy your congregation’s representation on this special occasion.

At a time when universal rights are being challenged around the world, even in our own country, and given the divisiveness that confronts us daily, we believe an outward witness to the legacy and promise of universalism could bring hope and healing to the world.

A reception, beginning at 5:15 p.m., will follow the service on the front east lawn of the church.

The convocation will also serve as the culmination of the UU Christian Fellowship that will meet Friday evening, and Oct 6th and throughout the day on Saturday.
