Myles Johnson
1929 – 2022

We are sad to announce the death of long-time member Myles Johnson on July 10 at age 93. Myles spent most of his career with the National Association of Social Workers, as a passionate advocate for the profession and for organized labor. He and his wife of 58 years Ruth Mitchell Raup met at All Souls in the 1960s and were married by Rev. James Reeb. Their daughters Kerry, Sara and Elizabeth were at his side on his final day. Our thoughts go out to Myles family and extended community as we grieve his loss and celebrate his life.

A celebration of life will be held August 20, at 2 p.m. at Ingleside King Farm in Rockville, MD, followed at 3 p.m. by a memorial concert featuring the Capital Focus Jazz Band. Donations in Myles’ memory may be made to the Potomac River Jazz Club.
