Within Unitarian Universalism, there’s a longstanding tension between our conscious commitment to new ideas and change (a hallmark of liberal religion) and our often unconscious commitment to tradition (a hallmark of being human). Our mission of creating “a diverse, spirit-growing, justice-seeking, Beloved Community” calls us to develop different approaches for navigating this tension.
