James Baldwin: Theologian and Social Critic
James Baldwin wrote prophetically and eloquently about the intersection of race, religion and sexual orientation. His words speak powerfully to our current moment. In this class, we’ll examine Baldwin’s essays and short fiction through these three lenses. We’ll also see together the Shakespeare Theater Company’s production of Baldwin’s play, The Amen Corner (ticket not included in class registration fee). To ensure a diverse experience that draws on multiple perspectives, we’re asking people to share with us why they’re interested in participating and how their own experience intersects with the topics of the class. Before registering, please drop a short email by Feb. 15 to Tony Coleman (email@example.com).
Rev. Rob Hardies and Tony Coleman. Mondays, Mar. 9-Apr. 6, 7:00-9:00 pm. $25
