Discussion: Women and the Critical Eye (Tue., July 28)

Metropolitan Museum of Art hosts Women and the Critical Eye (Tuesday, July 28, 5:30-6:30 pm). Met curator Kelly Baum will chat with Wangechi Mutu, whose sculptures, “The NewOnes, will free Us,” have graced the Met’s historic façade since September 2019. Together, they’ll explore the artist’s creative process as well as the works’ presentation, iconography, and cultural and art historical references. Their discussion will also open out onto current events and the role of art institutions in promoting equity and justice. More information and registration here.
