Coronavirus Updates

Our Building Is Closed, But We’re Still Doing Church

Mayor Bowser has extended DC’s stay-at-home order, mass gathering ban, and closure of nonessential businesses through June 8, 2020. All Souls Church will remain physically closed until that time. Please continue to be on the lookout for worship service to be delivered directly to your inbox, and on the homepage of the website.

We want to reassure you that the ministry of the church will continue during the building closure and that your church is here for you during this uncertain time.

Online worship – The staff is developing an intimate, online worship experience to share with you on Sunday morning. By 9:00 am this Sunday you will receive an email with a link to a pre-recorded worship experience led by Rev. Rob Hardies, Rev. Tony Coleman, Jen Hayman, and Rochelle Rice. You may also access this worship experience through the church’s Facebook page. Worship experiences will be provided online every Sunday the church building is closed.

Congregational care and support – Our congregational care team is ready is ready and willing to help.  If you are in need of pastoral or spiritual care, please reach out to our Minister of Congregational Care, Rev. Tony Coleman (tcoleman@allsouls.ws); our chaplain Christin Green (cgreen@allsouls.ws); Rev. Rob Keithan (rkeithan@allsouls.ws); or Rev. Rob Hardies (rhardies@allsouls.ws).

Furthermore, the congregational care team will be creating opportunities for congregants to connect through Zoom in order to check-in and support one another. We’ll be sending you more details about these online support groups next week.

Religious education for children and youth – Check our CYRE page for lesson plans, videos, and other resources to keep our children and youth involved.

Church meetings and business – We encourage you to convene church committees, affinity groups, and classes via Zoom or another online platform. Please contact your committee chair or group leader about meeting information. To gain access to a church Zoom account for your meeting, please fill out the form on our homepage.

Finally, just as your church will be here for you, we ask that you please be here for the church. Our full-time staff will be working throughout the building closure, and we will also pay our part-time hourly employees through the closure. Your generous support of the church will keep our community strong through this difficult time. You can make a contribution online or by texting ‘ascu’ to 73256 and following the directions. You can let us know how you plan to support the church in FY 2020-21 by filling out this commitment card.

Friends, trust and believe that we will get through this together. Thank you for your care for one another and for our congregation.
