Director of Children and Youth Religious Education
Dolores runs the Sunday children’s religious education program. Contact her for questions about registering children or volunteering to teach.
Dolores has been serving Unitarian Universalist congregations as a religious educator for more than 25 years, the last six at All Souls. Her background in and passion for drama find expression in the many stories and activities offered in our religious education programs. Dolores is an active member of the Greater Washington Association Religious Education Council and serves on the Justice and Equity Team, an advisory group to the Board of the Liberal Religious Educators Association. She has also served as a Joseph Priestley adjunct staff member. Since arriving at All Souls, Dolores has introduced several new levels of the Our Whole Lives (OWL) sexuality curriculum, the “1st Sunday Choose Your Own Adventure” program, the workshop rotation model of religious education, and an annual youth-led service. She has created opportunities for our children and youth to present the monthly Story for All Ages and participate in baby dedications. Dolores has recently led an All Souls team in piloting an Accountability Assessment Tool for Dismantling White Supremacy in Lifespan Religious Education, produced by the UUA’s Office of Faith Development.
